To start of your project, we make sure to cover up areas that aren’t being treated. We place a ventilation system inside the bathroom to reduce odour & avoid any debris accumulation during the process.
The next steps involves deep cleaning the bathtub with an appropriate cleaner (etch cleaner or a tub and tile cleaner). We wash down the cleaner and sand with wet sanding paper. We then rinse the tub with water all over again while using a sponge. This ensures we get rid of all the grime, grease, dirt and residue. If necessary, we also remove the existing caulking.
The bathtub is then sanded and vacuumed to ensure we have a smooth surface to work on.
Securing the shower head and faucet with a plastic bag is important to avoid leaking of any water that may interfere or damage the process. The tub and area is then masked.
A cloth is used to do a final wipe to remove any dust that might be left on the tub using a lacquer thinner. Finally, a primer is used on the entire tub and allowed to stand for a few moments. We then are ready to spray your bathtub using our Low VOC glaze with three to four coats.
